“Without owners, volunteers and supporters in this sport, my dreams would come to a screeching halt! The faces you have seen through out this web site and in the following paragraphs truly are BRF heroes. Thank you for your unwavering support of our program, and most importantly, for allowing me to ride your phenomenal horses and entrusting me with their care!”

Join The Journey

Thoughts on the road ahead…

"It’s about the journey and the learning process not just the hopeful destination! The most important part of competing and striving for excellence is finding out what untapped potential is hiding within each and every horse and rider I work with. It is this untapped potential or romantic idea that drives me to be the best trainer, competitor, coach, and teammate possible. Over the years there has been heartbreak, tears, hard work, sacrifice, sweat, laughs, thrilling moments, triumphs, and character building events than I never knew possible associated with this journey. But, most importantly, there have been lifelong lessons and friendships gained. Amy Tryon (two time Olympian) taught me “It’s not the end result that is important, but rather…it’s the journey to getting there”. The journey is made special by those who are on that road with you. If you haven’t been a part of a great team, you don’t know what you’re missing. It takes a village of people all working together to create a great horse or rider. Without every sponsor, owner, supporter, fan and friend the journey ends…the dream of reaching for your personal best is no longer."

Brad Patterson
On the road ahead…

“My name is Brad Patterson and I am now what some may call a Senior Rider. I started riding at the age of 19 and continued for 30 plus years.  Three years ago I found myself reevaluating my life after being out of the saddle for at least 15 years. Something was missing in my life and it didn’t take me long to realize it was my love for horses, barns, the smell of leather and hay that I sorely missed. I purchased a new horse and quickly realized that I needed a very reputable barn and instructor. Serendipity through a mutual horse friend introduced me to Mary Burke and I quickly drove up to Ellensburg to “interview” her barn to see whether my new horse and I would be a good fit. My first impression of Burkeridge Farm was excellent. The property was very well maintained, the barn immaculate, the riding rings professionally groomed and the hayfields beautiful and most importantly the horses were very well attended to. I have now been a student of Mary Burke for four years and look forward to each of my weekly lessons with her. I am now on my second horse which Mary found for me and I could not be happier. He is in full board and training besides being expertly shown by Mary at three day events around the state.  I recommend Mary Burke and Burkeridge Farm without hesitation. As an added plus you also get the pleasure of knowing her hardworking husband Richard who is a full time fireman in Issaquah, WA and a full time barn hand on the weekends at Burkeridge Farm doing whatever is needed.

The Biggest Volunteer

Richard L. Burke
Thoughts for the road ahead…

“My husband Richard Burke is the most important piece of the Burkeridge Farm Business and my success as a rider and as a person! He is not only a wonderful and supportive husband and father, he is hands down the person who helps me through my more difficult times and my darkest equestrian moments! Everyone needs a go to man….and he is that, and more for me! No one can ride at the FEI level, work as a Physical Therapies, run an equestrian business and maintain sanity without a strong support system. My “ Superman hero ” has always been there to change a flat tire on the horse trailer, help clients at shows or at the farm with a smile, mends fencing and builds beautiful tack rooms for the Burkeridge Farm facility. I’m not certain that I could ever find a better person than my husband to spend my equestrian life with! He has truly been the main contributor to my success and I’m so fortunate to have him in my life! Thank you honey for being there for our biggest wins, scraping me up off the floor when I needed it and above all keeping me grounded. You are the best!”

Katie Brown
On the road ahead…

Sally and Katie Brown have been long supporters of Mary’s and have been riding with her since 2010. They are original members of the Burkeridge Farm team. Their continued support and unending compliments have always kept Mary striving for excellence. The Brown’s are an example of wonderful and loyal owners and it has been a gift to have them as a part of Team BRF.

"We drive over 1 hour each way for lessons with Mary but it is well worth my time and the extra gas. Yes, I could take lessons much closer to home but I would have to take several lessons with another trainer to learn what I learn with Mary in one lesson."
